The headline implies that they are using Wi-Fi RF waves to scan and create an image of interior objects. In actuality, they are pinging Wi-Fi devices inside a building and calculating their location using time-of-flight measurements.
The device, nicknamed Wi-Peep, can fly near a building and then use the inhabitants' Wi-Fi network to identify and locate all Wi-Fi-enabled devices inside.
Still interesting, but not quite “seeing through walls.”
