This is why I don't enjoy technology anymore. The zealotry is just too much. Rust is a very useful programming language, but it's just a tool, you use it when it makes sense.
The article on the other hand argues that national security itself depends on people adopting Rust, because it's a memory-safe language, unlike other languages. But managed languages like Java have more memory-safety guarantees than Rust, and languages like C, Zig or Rust unsafe are meant to be more powerful than Rust to let you build your own abstractions, since there are many ways to manage memory. One size does not fit all when it comes to safety, liveness and performance.
