same, i pack my stuff at 5:55 pm and then stand in front of the machine at 5:59. as soon as the clock turns to 6, i clock out. after some days of unpaid overtime, i made a ruckus about the pay in front of business partners, principals, and other employees. my manager later told me that he was so embarrassed and don't plan to make any other employees do any unpaid overtime. it was in my first month of wfo.
- oaiey 4y agoThis is a nuance i do not appreciate. There is a difference in working 40h +/- 2h a week (which i do since 10 years) and punching out after exactly 8 hours. No work finished exactly on time.
- lemper 4y agoi also don't appreciate working til midnight for 3 weeks straight.
- therealdrag0 4y agoThat’s not relevant to the other comment tho?
- oaiey 4y agoI not at all advocate that. Total opposite actually. All I am saying is: at some days I work 15 minutes longer and on others 15 minutes shorter. Same work quantity with the difference that I stop working at a meaningful point and not let everything drop at a fixed point. I buffer a bit to my private duties (kids in my case), so I do not have stress in any direction.
- lemper 4y agothat's your workplace. my workplace deduce my pay if i am late. this is a nuance i don't appreciate.
