As winter, Russian reinforcements, and the midterms approach, Blinken and Sullivan face reality. After all, the primary objective, selling more US LNG to Europe, has been achieved. Hopefully they won’t just send another lapdog British PM to kill the deal like they did in April.

- trifit 4y agoQuite cynical proposal, the differences between the stubborn Putin and adrenaline filled Zelensky are not Americas fault. I’m sure US has better things to initiate than sell oil. Winter cuts both ways, we are already seeing Russian recruits and officers voice their opinion against being sent to the meat grinder. In fact there is still no justification for the attack on civilians which seems to have motivated Ukrainians further.

- miguelazo 4y agoThe attacks on civilian infrastructure were a direct result of the escalation on the part of the West and the Azov-controlled Ukrainian military— bombing the bridge to Crimea and the Nordstream pipelines, etc.
- throwawaysleep 4y agoBiden imperiled Democratic chances in the midterms due to accelerating inflation in exchange for helping an industry that hates him and is populated with people who hate him boost sales?
- miguelazo 4y agoThat’s the most impressive part of all— the neocons got the Dems to (enthusiastically) carry out their insane foreign policy predicated on desperately maintaining US hegemony AND making the Dems pay the price for it at the polls.
