Ah, this must be the git bisect strategy for finding which employees they can get rid of without completely destroying the company. Elon will on average, only need to do O(log n) layoffs!
- stupendousyappi 4y agoOnly if the employees are already accurately sorted by value.
- rhinoceraptor 4y agoAgain, he has a genius method: git log --author="$EMPLOYEE" -p | wc -l
- 29athrowaway 4y agohttps://github.com/tj/git-extras/blob/master/Commands.md https://github.com/tj/git-extras/blob/master/Commands.md "git summary" from git-extras works too
- hedgehog 4y agogit log --pretty=%ae | sort | uniq -c | sort -r
- v3ss0n 4y agoEasy pip install git-fame cd twitter git-fame
- leohonexus 4y agoOr, given Twitter’s internal politics, he could model the org chart as a minimax tree and alpha-beta prune, giving a space complexity of only O(bd) :)
- x86x87 4y agowe all know that the org chart is an untrained neural net

- Pxtl 4y agoScream test for human beings.
- pevey 4y agoIt does seem like this is basically what they are doing. The messages employees received did not include the actual paperwork, which the messages say will come in about a week. It could be interpreted as a strategy to "terminate" aggressively but with the option to walk it back a bit if the place falls apart within the week. It's a clever-sounding approach on paper. But there is a human element when dealing with people's livelihoods that might not have been sufficiently considered.
