Lots of the complaining about the monetization strategy is really complaining about Elon. I am sure some of the self-aggrandizing blue checks are not happy losing their imaginary status, but it’s a reasonable business decision. But yes, a massive social media network not relying on ad money is a net positive to society in my opinion. Nothing good can come out from having the C-suite of Coca-Cola set social norms by allocating ad spend.
