Elon Musk Is Not Stupid – By Sven Schnieders
- mikkergp 4y agoI appreciate Sven's point.... So facebooks "Simple on the other side of the complicated" is probably something like: If you gather a lot of data on users, you can microtarget consumers, and make ads significantly more valuable to advertisers. Maybe exponentially so. What is Musk/Twitters?
- PaulHoule 4y agoYeah, quantitative reasoning is for the little people. The "simplicity on the other side of complexity" is one of those facile stories that appeals to the student who says they understand the subject but can't solve the problems. If only the high-status person can wait, the grinds will do the work to make things simple. It's true that the complexity of a system can increase in early development and finally decrease when people find some of the things they thought were essential weren't, some of the things that you thought were dual are unitary, and that some things can be done in a better way than you think at first. On the other hand, many projects fail because the attempted solution doesn't address essential aspects of the problem.
