Twitter is weird like that sometimes (often?). My account was created ~2009, I read a lot, but don't post very often. A while ago between 15 and 20 shady accounts started following me. Twitter immediately froze my account before I cold even block these obvious bots. I opened a support ticket and received my answer in a suspiciously short amount of time, and my account was reactivated.
