Twitter sued by former staff as mass sacking begins
- Overtonwindow 4y agoI wonder when this lawsuit actually began, before he took over, or just in the past few days.
- tiernano 4y agoguess it would have to be in the last few days, given you can't sue for something that hasn't happened yet, right? IANAL, so I don't know... up till last night, it was all speculation... when it was confirmed, they could sue then... maybe the paper work was in process, and finally filled when it happened...
- sys_64738 4y agoI thought US employment was mostly at-will? What's the basis for said lawsuit?
- greyface- 4y agoFrom the article: > a lawsuit was filed in the US federal court in San Francisco seeking orders for Twitter to comply with the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, which requires 60 days’ notice for mass sackings at large employers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worker_Adjustment_and_Retraining_Notification_Act_of_1988 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worker_Adjustment_and_Retraini...
