This is only for mass layoffs, right? What if Twitter fires en-masse for "cause"?

  Well, then a lawyer for the class of fired people will tell a court "this was really a layoff" and the lawyer for Twitter will say "no, it's a coincidence". 1 lawsuit later, money changes hands or doesn't.

      The lawsuit has already been filed. Or at least one of possibly many.
