Elon Musk Begins Layoffs at Twitter
- jihadjihad 4y ago“About half of Twitter’s workers appeared set to lose their jobs, according to previous internal messages and an investor, though the final count may take time to become clear.”
- flashgordon 4y agoSo there are a couple of things this got me thinking (yes short answer is capitalism but...). Parag is being lauded for not getting bullied by Musk, Standing up to him, pushing through an overpriced acquisition and enriching share holders. 1. Did he really not know layoffs of this magnitude were coming? Doubt it. 2. If he did and thinks that was the right thing for Twitter (for innovation instead of just cutting costs) why did he not do it himself (instead of selling it to you-know-who)? 3. Looks this whole sale was a way to wash your hands of the guilt of actually of having to do the layoff yourself! This almost feels like a conqueror putting every other captive to death as part of the victory ceremony! I mean are layoffs so normalized that we not only accept them but also have to cheer for them even as victims by thanking with a LinkedIn post?
