lmao @ Economist not crediting the author in the article.
- aborochoff 4y agoThats their thing, they dont credit any articles.
- teg4n_ 4y agoI’m pretty sure The Economist never attributes an author in their articles. The author is supposed to be “The Economist”
- Manuel_D 4y agoNot entirely correct, their "by invitation" columns are named, e.g: https://www.economist.com/by-invitation/2022/10/28/frances-finance-minister-on-how-to-fight-inflation-and-preserve-stability https://www.economist.com/by-invitation/2022/10/28/frances-f... But for the bulk of their articles, yes, the Economist is famous for its anonymous bylines.
- bombcar 4y agoSame as Tyler Durdan writing all that stuff for Zerohedge iirc. It makes somewhat of a sense if you’re trying to disconnect the message from the speaker.
- dredmorbius 4y agoOr that dredmorbius guy on HN. (Among numerous others.)

- whelchel 4y agoThe Economist deliberately does not put bylines on the vast majority of content - it’s not sinister. https://www.economist.com/the-economist-explains/2013/09/04/why-are-the-economists-writers-anonymous https://www.economist.com/the-economist-explains/2013/09/04/...
