- ethagknight 4y agoDepends on what you define as the "start" since there are probably sub assemblies manufactured off sight or by subcontractors, etc. How long does it take to cook dinner? Well, depends on whats in the fridge, does it count going to the grocery, who grew the food?
- bombcar 4y agoIt's output - they can make 365 engines a year, which is one a day. Each one could take five years to build for all the title says.
- Jabrov 4y agoIt’s almost certainly output and not manufacturing time.
- topspin 4y agoI would have thought output; the machining, heat treatment, etc. is demanding and involves many tools. Assembly is a whole other phase.
- chasd00 4y agoNot to mention some of the alloys used in the Raptor2 engine were invented at SpaceX and exist nowhere else. They have to make the metal before even getting started on the part. I would imagine, start to finish, a Raptor2 takes a while.
