Not sure how telcos profit off scammers. Especially since I would imagine many times their payments are fraudulent. If anything these scammers waste the telco’s time too. This problem clearly isn’t getting fixed but I feel like saying “telcos make bank off scammers” is just too easy of a reason. There has to be some underlying reason this is a hard problem to solve.
