I feel like the above the fold section of your homepage is a huge lost opportunity.
You've got a bunch of icons, but it conveys no information about what your product does.
Additionally, using the term "file system" is confusing as there is a tech industry definition for what that is (i.e. something your operating system uses to manage files on storage media) and this is definitely not that.
It seems like this is either intended to be a better DropBox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc, or its' an app that creates a searchable metadata database of the files on your local machine. Tell me why it is better than those, or overwhelm me with the value of this tool.
- nunomotag 4y agoHey hey, Founder here! Thanks a lot for your feedback, and I think you are right in a couple of things. We definitely need to work on the slogan. Just to clarify our goal: we indeed don't plan to replace the underlying file system, we will essentially be a file manager. The main advantage we see is with automated folders (i.e., you can dump all of your files on your Desktop and NeveMind sorts everything out for you - based on both "content" and "type" of the files). We then provide search on top of the collected metadata, as you said. We don't plan on offering cloud storage, we plan on integrating with DropBox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc, so you can sort your files everywhere.
- metadat 4y agoWhy not call it the right name - a File Manager. I found the un-filesystem-yness of the detailed description off-putting after setting expectations from reading the tagline of "The Last Filesystem You'll Ever Need". Just my .02, good luck and godspeed! The world needs something like this to be a runaway success and become widely available. There is just too much damn data these days.
- nunomotag 4y agoChanges pushed, slogan corrected! Apologies for betraying your expectations, and thanks a lot for the support! :)
