https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministries_of_Nineteen_Eighty-Four#Ministry_of_Truth https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministries_of_Nineteen_Eighty-... The Ministry of Truth (Newspeak: Minitrue) is the ministry of propaganda. As with the other ministries in the novel, the name Ministry of Truth is a misnomer because in reality it serves the opposite: it is responsible for any necessary falsification of historical events. However, like the other ministries, the name is also apt because it decides what "truth" is in Oceania. It is not about truth, it is about rewriting truth so it is propaganda.

Is it really truth if it is rewritten to be true? Maybe before the edit is the real edit. That, and only _that_ is where the true propaganda “lies”

This is what the mass media creates. The truth has been rewritten to one side or another. Wikipedia? https://www.ineteconomics.org/perspectives/blog/wikipedias-deep-ties-to-big-tech https://www.ineteconomics.org/perspectives/blog/wikipedias-d... Just another Mass Media company that edits things. The big question is what don't they want us to know? That's the truth.
