UpstartD was the good alternative offered by Canonical, but Redhat finally won with their SystemD.
- xyzzy_plugh 4y agoupstart was terrible. I wanted upstart to win, I invested a ton of personal and professional energy into making it win, and it was all a terrible mistake. The design was simply backwards. systemd was right from the start.
