Stanford knew about the campus imposter for a year. He kept coming back
- bell-cot 4y agoSo - the Public Safety Dept. quietly covered the problem up and hoped it would go away, for as long as possible, per their "Ensure the Safety of Stanford's Public Image" Mission #1. When it got d*mn obvious that "just keep covering it up" could not possibly work, they finally fell back to Mission #2, and started doing things to (hopefully) protect the students & staff. This is an extremely common behavior pattern for college/university security departments. And has been for quite a few decades, if not centuries. It'd be nice if the Stanford Daily showed some awareness of this being a widespread old SOP, vs. a one-off local scandal. But really bright kids are still kids.
