And floppy disks? Sucked. Sucked big time. Get too near a magnet and your floppy is toast. Get a box of new blank HD floppies and one or two in the box might be bad. Slow as fuck, too. Everybody should thank Steve Jobs every day for killing floppies. Total compensation is better now, as long as you get RSUs. But you used to be able to rent a solo apartment near work without roommates, and good luck to junior engineers trying to do that now.
