For me I used to get a lot of news on reddit, but as I've aged and the product grew, I find I no longer identify with the zeitgeist/culture/slant, so I only skim it. I read the economist for a while but I found the volume overwhelming and the content from issue to issue too samey (esp. with the very consistent slant - I'd have preferred more variance in opinion). I think ideally the content volume would have been about half.
