Five years later, is eSIM finally ready to take on the world?
- sylware 4y agolol, the local telcos with some independent sim manufacturers had a small chance to keep the network auth process secure from terminal manufacturers, now whole world telcos private keys belong to big tech software... Nice "tour de force" from big tech (blackrock/vanguard = google/apple/microsoft/etc).
- josephcsible 4y agoThis concerns me about eSIMs: https://old.reddit.com/r/assholedesign/comments/xnudl2/no_room_my_ass/ipvpbdo/ https://old.reddit.com/r/assholedesign/comments/xnudl2/no_ro... The gist of it is that carriers can prevent you from moving eSIMs between phones, or charge you every time you do so.
