For my fellow french hackers: "scooter" is a trap word, it is actually a "trotinette", not a motorbike
- ralphhughes 4y agoNative English speaker here that doesn't know any French and that's a great word! The word reminds me of a horse trot which is a bit faster than walking, so feels like a good description. Scooter isn't the only word to have multiple meanings, "bike" can mean motorbike or bicycle which is another one in the endless source of confusion that is English!
