Why the future of computing is everywhere, all the time

Just two paragraphs made me realise that we need a word for pastel-shaded, drop-shadowed, near-future cringetopias set to a Brian Eno soundtrack. What poverty of imagination makes someone think being woken by gentle tinkling bells and birdsong from a radar alarm clock that tracks my breathing is anything but terrifying. I'd sooner wake up with gunshot wounds in the trunk of a car sinking into the river. When will this emetic, insipid, techno pamper-porn end? Give me Mad Max dragsters and laser swords ffs.
