Will Rust take over Data Engineering?
- swyx 4y agoi think what will happen is similar to the JS tooling ecosystem; instead of everything written in (JS|Python), you want to move the core tools into Rust for performance and type/memory safety. remains to be seen WHAT core items need to be moved - it was retroactively obvious for JS that you start with transpiler -> bundler, but data engineering doesnt have the same kind of stack..
