If you are rich with most of your assets in liquid form, you're not richin' right. The whole point is to keep as little liquid assets as possible and invest in a diverse portfolio of longer-term, return-yielding investments.
You'll want short-term liquidity for upcoming payables, and long-term solvency to justify leveraging as much as possible of your investments through borrowing.
