>You don't need to own dinosaur juice fueled car so you can drive an uncomfortably long distance in one leg a couple of times a year. This is so out of touch with mainstream America and will never happen. The ability to get in my car and drive where I want to, when I want to (perhaps even away from a natural or man-made disaster) is a freedom that me or many others will not allow ourselves to lose. The idea of having to ask permission to travel outside some radius is unfathomable.
