- hunglee2 4y agoA united Arabia was never on the cards in the post Ottoman era - British and French imperial interests would never allow it. Consequent efforts to unify the arab nations created by British / French have also been thwarted, not in the interests of the West to see Arab unity

- WeylandYutani 4y agoSelf rule is never "given" it is taken. If it was European powers that had bestowed them independence I dare say it would not be independence at all. And look at Saudi Arabia today: they are standing up to Biden. Things worked out for them quite well.
