I'm getting the impression that either you don't have any experience with lawyers, or your parents are lawyers and you think their way of life is normal. Lawyers lie for a living, and that inevitably fucks them up mentally. Over decades, over centuries of colonialist, capitalist apologetics, that has metastasized into an extremely sick culture. If you lie for a living too, you might see no issue with that. But it is an issue, whatever your opinion and whatever circumstances led you to form it.

Lawyers often present circumstances in a biased way in favour of their clients. But they get in trouble if they tell an out and out lie. You are imagining lawyers as monsters you can project all of the worlds sins on. It makes life simple so you dont have to think deeply about the world, but it doesn't match reality.
