1) it's ok to change your mind if you don't like the stand anymore, and your own stand is your own stand - you don't have to explain yourself to anyone, or listen to their rules of what is ok or not ok, whether they think your reason to change your stand is valid or not.
2) We all have to live. Living costs money. While it is nice to say it is horrible to not stand by one's principles and take a stand if it costs money, for 99.999% of the world, we all do stuff for money that we don't want to do, whether for morals, ethics, or whatever. Also, it is easy to take a stand if you are 18-years-old, no job and living at parent's home...along those lines or similar to it. But young mostly. It's different if you are 45-years-old, married with 3 children, a mortgage in a house a little too expensive, your kids in private school, etc. It's different situations. You have to put up with a lot more crap sometimes when you are 45-years-old and a lot of responsibilities, sell out your principles to some extent (never doing anything illegal, of course, no murder for hire for your boss when you work at a gift card shop. Nothing like that. Just regular principles, many have to let slide.
