  Yes, cattle. Those companies don't see you as humans with rights and wants and needs but as resources producing content and being milked for profit. Whatever happens on FB belongs to FB, whoever wrote it. Your attention is sold to announcers, your messages are examined to build a profile, your connections and friendships are vectors to optimize targeting, the content you see is decided by the company to maximize their revenues and their political views. If they could capture your thoughts directly from your brain and leave you not even seeing the light of the day, they would.

    This sounds like you are simply describing how advertising works. Cattle do not respond to advertising. People do.
