I seem to remember Guido saying something along those lines at PyCon 2008 or 2009, but I guarantee that is not his current position, nor has it been in recent times. That original position was to not care about it for your production code - keep on doing your thing, but keep an eye on 3.x enough that you know what's going on and can make the switch when ready.
