Anecdotally I just upgraded my Server with hand-me-downs from my Desktop including a main board with integrated Intel NIC. I couldn't get the NIC to work on Ubuntu or Windows Server 2019. I will see if I can dig up the part number but iircc Intel just stopped supporting quite a few product lines including a line of NICs for integration into main boards. So perhaps that's where all the reports are coming from? I was surprised because I assumed the NIC would just work because it was Intel. * It's an Intel I219-V chip
