what the purpose/advantages of openbsd ? (completly open minded question)

  The entire operating system is extremely well documented and thought out. Everything is done the traditional Unix way, so you don't end up with problems from churning half-baked subsystems. It's also routinely + repeatedly security audited. If they can't maintain quality+security for some subsystem (e.g., their bluetooth stack), then they delete it. I run it on my router. I've had zero problems in many, many years.
