- jfengel 4y agoMost of it. Several Shakespeare plays are lost. And many more playwrights, without wealthy friends, are completely lost. It would be fascinating to have Thomas Kyd's version of Hamlet (likely Shakespeare's immediate source), or for that matter Kyd's precursor to The Spanish Tragedy. Kyd was, at the time, more popular than Shakespeare.
