I’m sure it doesn’t affect everyone the same. But I know for sure it helps me stay focused. Maybe it helps that my phone has a small screen that isn’t comfortable to extensively read on. By the way in that situation I’ll often send the article to the reMarkable then realize I don’t care to read it once I see it on the eink screen, and go back to work.
