Ask HN: How to promote tech-blogs without any existing audience?
I don't have any existing audience and network to promote the tech-content that I'm writing. What can be the 1st go-to steps to distribute content and get some feedback/validation?
- Grimburger 4y agoPost it here or on an appropriate subreddit, you will generally get one or two comments at least if it is novel.
- asicsp 4y agoTo add to this, I'd recommend participating in the relevant reddit (helping others, commenting on articles, submitting links by others, etc) before self-promoting.
- midspectrum 4y agoMy Reddit is currently very weak and I'm trying to stay active and participate in discussions. I think it's a gradual process.
- asicsp 4y agoYeah, I'd agree that it is gradual. What helped me more was joining a few subs related to my hobbies (ex: fictional books). That meant using reddit as something I enjoyed as a consumer and self-promoting became secondary.
- midspectrum 4y ago100% aligned. The missing piece for me to fix is to become an active consumer of Reddit which currently I'm not.
- midspectrum 4y agoDo Karma points matter for the posts to get some engagement on posts?
