The currency of the future is the currency of the past - the prevailing story, the mental model that people hold and fit their evidence in. That mental model varies hugely - it provides the difference between Republicans and Democrats, between Autocracy and Liberty. Polls show the biggest divide based on college education - the models picked up or more likely challenged and discarded in higher education provide a stark differentiator for modern voting trends. Control the mental model, and the facts hardly matter.
