- Schroedingersat 4y agoMore likely that wind power is the third power of wind speed, and rated capacities are usually 8m/s If they don't outright state swept area or rated speed, assume a random house will see 5-10% capacity factor. This is why wind is huge and only in specific places. Plus anything over about 200W per household on average will create turbulence which will mean the neighbors can't also get that much. Wind is for utility (where it still dominates for now in northern climes) and select industrial or commercial sites.
