When I heard that facebook was buying oculus I honestly believed that it was a terrible idea and that it would ruin what VR can be in a soulless, dirty, ugly corporate cashgrab that made no sense and that was ill-guided, ill-intended, and hopeless. I had no idea that they would completely fail to do a cashgrab and instead make the entire experience either so expensive or so terrible that no one would want to participate in it.
