My company bought me a Dell recently laptop. Some XPS with Linux on it. It took over a month to be shipped, then arrived with the touchpad broken: it failed a BIOS self-diagnostic check, I'm not sure how they ever shipped something like that. They then had a part on backlog for another month (presumably a trackpad?), sent out a tech to come swap it out, who recommended that if it was DOA I should ship it back and they'd swap it out for a new one and I'd have it back in a couple days. Sent it back but surprise surprise they decided to replace the part and it took another month for the part to get to that office. Now it's been with "overnight Fedex" for a week shipping back, allegedly fixed.
It's been over 4 months now since I ordered it. The enterprise support contract is "good" though; there is a guy who emails me every few days updating me on the ETA for the parts, etc. But it seems to just be information, the whole logistics setup is messed up.
