- PaulHoule 4y agoNote Luke Leighton tested this by buying 6 SSDs that claim to have power loss protection and found that four out of the six models of drive he tested failed (every drive that wasn't an Intel drive) For a long time I was a believer in Intel drives. If you looked closely at reviews you found they were slightly more expensive than competitors but performed well at the 95% level... Which are the annoying slowdowns that have you swearing at your computer. If a laptop had an "Intel Inside" sticker because it had a premium Intel SSD rather than a subprime CPU and GPU, Intel would have been a premium brand. Just like a merger always involves an inferior company buying a superior competitor, Intel always kills off quality products (SSDs) in favor of brand-destroying low end products such as integrated and ARC GPU.
