That Cardboard Box in Your Home Is Fueling Election Denial
- h2odragon 4y agodoubt about the results of the 2016 election is still ok, right? Or are all elections now sacred, and when the next one concludes there will be no qualms allowed about the results of that? "Denial" is a word only used by the militant in pursuit of orthodoxy. "Holocaust denial" was the first use of the rhetorical technique, the term was thrown at people who denied the Holocaust had happened and those who were educating the world on the details of what did happen, equally.

Who are you thinking of that falls into that latter category?
- h2odragon 4y agoI recall a time when people pointing out that "other deviants" were also persecuted beside Jews were accused of revisionism, denial-ism, and so on. Any discussion of details is fraught with the peril of having passionate people argue without being prepared to listen. With this as well as other subjects. Makes it hard to ask, specifically re: the Holocaust, how "normal" people stood silent while they knew there was something wrong. At what point were the consequences of silence worse than the consequences of resistance, civil or otherwise? For the common citizen? That'd be a real good discussion to be refreshing about now i think.
