Seems like Safari (both mobile and desktop) is actively hostile to Passkeys.
Safari on a Mac requires me to enable iCloud Keychain in order to use Passkeys and has no way around that requirement.
Mobile Safari presents me a QR code to be scanned by another iOS device o_O

- speg 4y agoYeesh. I thought the whole point was to make this easier? How am I supposed to take a photo of my phone screen?
- illiac786 4y agoThis is the huge downside of passkeys in my view. You must subscribe to some sync solution, and apple/Google/Msft have a tight grip on it it seems, forcing users to use their own secrets sync solution. Hope it will change though and I can sync my passkeys using 1password for example. I don't want and password manager and a separate passkey manager on top of that....
