The language agnostic approach works unless you're hiring for languages with a steep learning curve.
Eg: Ruby Engineers.
Hire a Ruby egnineer if you want an Ruby engineer.
I've found engineers being able to quickly pickup Python, Java and C.
- ecshafer 4y agoIs ruby considered hard? I think I picked it up in a couple weeks and was productive. C is harder to pick up and be productive just due to the existence of footguns. Scala I thought was harder as well.
- keeptrying 4y agoIt used to be considered hard. Happy to know that you think otherwise.
