Thor: Love and Thunder - Feel free to run and pee whenever you want.
- carabiner 4y agoThanks.
- racl101 4y agolol. Especially the parts with Thor.
- gw99 4y agoThis is by far the funniest and most accurate thing I've seen here. The whole film was absolute garbage.
- mikestew 4y agoMy wife rented it for the plane on a solo trip. She got back, but the Apple TV progress bar in "Watch Now" indicated she'd only watched about 30 minutes of it. "Sucked bad", she said, "but maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it." We paid for it, I like Portman, I like Hemsworth, I liked the previous installments. I decided to watch the trailer to see if I wanted to watch the whole thing. I just barely made it to the end of the trailer. I can only imagine the steaming pile that was the whole movie.
- all2 4y agoThis makes me sad. Thor: Ragnorak was hysterical and probably my favorite Marvel movie so far. Maybe the old adage about the third movie being better than the second will hold true.
- tedunangst 4y agoL&T is the fourth Thor movie. Definitely the worst according to Lucas logic.
- aidenn0 4y agoReally? I thought TPM was the strongest of the prequels; AotC was by far the worst.
- all2 4y agoThe original StarWars trilogy flipped this, too. In my mind Empire Strikes Back was literally the best of the originals.
- aidenn0 4y agoI think there is broad agreement that Empire is the best of the originals. The other two trillogies seem to have a much wider variety of opinions.
- ubermonkey 4y agoThat's a widely held POV. Lucas hired a decent director in Irving Kershner and had outsiders do the actual screenplay, including Lawrence Kasdan. Kasdan went on to become a genuine heavyweight writer (Raiders, Jedi) and writer/director (Body Heat, The Big Chill, The Accidental Tourist, Grand Canyon). He also wrote TFA and Solo. So, honestly, no surprise it was better executed than the first film. I maintain to this day that TESB is still the only one of the 9 "Skywalker Saga" movies that is genuinely a good film from an objective filmmaking perspective.
- HWR_14 4y agoYou already paid for it. Might as well try and watch it. Trailers seem to have only a loose connection to the movie itself. They're made by different teams, sometimes with different (unused) footage.
- mikestew 4y agoYour point is well taken, but the trailer would have to be pretty disconnected from the actual movie for it to be worth the time, IMO. :-)
- HWR_14 4y agoYou could also check out reviews. But I think I recall Ragnorak having a very disconnected trailer from the actual movie. Like the MCU uses the same trailer people for each one and they never got that the Thor storyline was supposed to be funny.
- xupybd 4y agoI agree it was over the top and expect international audiences to hate it. It is saturated with Kiwi humor, thanks to Taika. As a Kiwi I got the jokes but found there was too much of it for a Marvel movie.
- aidenn0 4y agoMy wife liked it better than Ragnarok. Nobody else in the family rated it better than "mediocre"
- Firmwarrior 4y agoMan, I'm shocked people didn't like it It was one of my favorite Marvel movies. I was on the edge of my seat and/or laughing uproariously the whole time I'd say it proves I just don't have any taste, but you'd think that applies to anyone intentionally watching comic book movies..
- aidenn0 4y agoI think that Waititi dialed the silliness up just a bit too much for most people. For everyone else, it's probably great.
- ubermonkey 4y agoI mean, it wasn't a top-5 Marvel film, but it was fine. In the absence of the high points this series has given us, we wouldn't be complaining at all. Well, I mean, SOME people would, because SOME people get upset whenever a woman gets out of what they see as her lane, but the rest of us wouldn't. (My top 5, today: Black Panther; Ragnarok; Winter Soldier; Iron Man; Endgame. But the only ones I'd rate below a B are Thor 2, Iron Man 2 & 3, and Eternals.)
- anigbrowl 4y agoIt was pretty silly, but then again Morbius took itself very seriously and wasn't entertaining at all. There are too many superhero movies. I like the format, they can be very enjoyable, but the more the genre expands the more it has to mine parody, bathos, and other comedic techniques. Even Shakespeare wrote some stinkers.
