I Broke the Rules
- boxed 4y agoDid I understand correctly that "sr-only attribute" means "Screen Reader-only attribute", as in html attributes for deaf?
- sebazzz 4y agoI once got my account flagged be because I wrote "Please let <name of piece of software> die" as reply on another tweet. I was able to get it rectified though by manual review.

- xupybd 4y agoWhen there are public calls to ban bots, hate speech and every other thing on a platform, then platforms start banning people. There is very little cost to them for a false positive so they have no reason not to be a little over zealous. There is little value in having a good support team for people that don't pay. So there is no recourse when you get caught under the ban hammer. These large platforms are not serving the users they're serving the advertisers. That is the business model. They just have to keep enough people happy to retain critical mass.

- danjoredd 4y agoHonestly, being banned from Twitter forever is probably a good thing unless your business relies on it. When I deleted mine I could feel my blood pressure drop and a feeling of relief pour over me. Same with Facebook.
- K7PJP 4y agoSo long as it's your decision to leave Twitter, fine. Arbitrary bans are a harmful act. People use and enjoy social networks, sometimes even rely on them.
- incomingpain 4y agoIn my point of view, this is the equivalent of being let out of prison arbitrarily. Then because it wasn't your decision you want back into prison. No dude, run. Run as fast as possible.
- bobsmooth 4y agoPrivate companies can ban whomever they want for whatever reason they want. Don't like it? Make your own twitter.
- afiori 4y agoI am pretty sure they cannot blanket ban based on religion or race
- xupybd 4y agoAnd if all the banks decide your race is not allowed to use their services? There are some services that need regulation to allow all people to use them. There are reasonable restrictions. I lean libertarian but you can't have a functional monopoly excluding people from aspects of society most enjoy without good cause.
