There is a popular russian joke I just recently heard told that has a bumpkin from the village say to his buddy, hey, you know, my friend got a French girlfriend and she's so dirty! Why, asks his buddy? Well, she takes a bath every day!

- lelandfe 4y agoSurely the humor is in the country bumpkin believing that a daily bath is unusual, and only a habit of someone extremely dirty.

- lelandfe 4y agoThat might be a part of it, but it is a translated joke - so the double entendre of “dirty” may not be intentional
- filoleg 4y agoYeah, "dirty" in russian doesn't have the sexual connotation to it. Funny enough, "hot" still has that connotation.
- conductr 4y agoThat's funny because the combo of "French", "girl" and "dirty" definitely leans towards sexual connotations in the US and without it I don't find the joke funny at all.
