Ask HN: Do you use pointers? Why?
- ogarten 4y agoWhen I teach a class, I always use pointers to show things on my slides. Jokes aside, what pointers are you talking about? Code? Presentations?
- stop50 4y agoPointer are useful, since you don't have to copy some stuff around. It reduces the memory footprint, but you hace to watch out for parallel access on the same object.
- pestatije 4y agoYes all the time. Because I'm interested in the pointers targets.
- tekknik 4y agoIt would be very helpful to discuss what language you’re using pointers in. Some languages use pointers under the hood, others don’t.
