Py day
- zeristor 4y agoHow long before Python 3.14.15?
- mikepurvis 4y agoThat would be a lot of point releases! Maybe if the BDFL declares Python 3 finished at 3.14 and we have to move on to Python 4 though. :) Or we'll have to be content with 3.14.1 as our pi py.
- eru 4y agoWell, we are at Python 3.9.15 at the moment. So reaching 15 point releases seems quite doable.
- mikepurvis 4y agoWell dang, I guess I haven't kept up.
- rrdharan 4y agoI know you’re kidding but just a reminder that Python explicitly no longer has a BDFL.. gvr renounced that position.
- digitalsankhara 4y agoThank you for putting a smile on my face.
- wartijn_ 4y agoPython has a 12 month release schedule[0], so 3.14.0 should be released in October 2025. Of the python 3 versions, only 3.6 and 3.7 got to .15, about 4 and 5 years after their releases[1]. But 3.9.14 was released last month, less than two years after it's initial release. So somewhere between 2027 and 2030? [0] https://peps.python.org/pep-0602/ https://peps.python.org/pep-0602/ [1] https://www.python.org/doc/versions/ https://www.python.org/doc/versions/
- BerislavLopac 4y agoThat's next week, at least for this release. ;)
