Python 3.11.0 final is now available
- patrick91 4y agoI'm very excited about this release, the better errors are going to be very helpful! Also I'd love to see how the speed improvements affect my projects and libraries
- dontbenebby 4y agoThanks for this! For a long time I used the Python interpreter mostly as a glorified calculator, but I recently had to make a note to tweak a print statement to use parenthesis, and thought about how far the community has come. I think a lot of people forget the dark days where they'd tell you if you want to learn to program, first you need to learn Q-BASIC, then you need to learn enough C to be a malware writer, then you need to learn everything in the ESR "How to be a hacker" essay... and then you might be told one summer maybe you should try Python if the ambiguity in Perl's syntax is frustrating you -- not only is the language making strikes, but I love how often the barrier is my attention span, not the documentation. (The problem used to be the reverse when I first got interested in general purpose computing... little to no guides and a lot of very rude people posting during work hours.) Thanks for all the efforts :-)
